James Boyle är professor vid Duke University School of Law, grundare till dess Center for the Study of The Public Domain, och en centralfigur i kampen mot de copyright-lagar som i ökande takt äter upp vårt gemensamma kulturarv och gör det otillgängligt, till och med straffbart att ta del av. I en artikel i Financial Times liknar han copyright-lagarna vid ett svart hål - "The 20th-century black hole" - som suger åt sig all litteratur från vår mest närliggande tid och uppslukar den.
