Here comes the Sun

Detta är mycket, mycket stor humor.

Isak Gerson fäster uppmärksamheten på vad som måste vara historiens absolut allra främsta exempel hittills på de stora skivbolagens (i det här fallet EMI' s) paranoia och copyright-extremism.
I centrum står Beatles-låten Here comes the Sun. Citat från Wikipedia:

Astronomer and science popularizer Carl Sagan had desired for the song to be included on the Voyager Golden Record, copies of which were attached to both spacecraft of the Voyager program to provide any entity that recovered them a representative sample of human civilization. Although the Beatles favored the idea, EMI refused to release the rights and when the probes were launched in 1977 the song was not included.

Rädslan för att någon livsform i Universum skulle kunna bemäktiga sig denna sång utan att betala fick följaktligen upphovsrättsinnehavaren EMI att stoppa planerna på att sända musikstycket ut i rymden.

Om "Here comes the Sun" kan ses som representativ för den mänskliga civilisationen måste stora skivbolag som EMI ses som den absoluta motsatsen.
